• PS16 AVCHD no burner recognized

Hi I have been using Avid Studio with no problem burning both SD & AVCHD on DVD's. I installed Pinnacle Studio 16 and kept Avid installed also. I capture a 20 min. clip in 1920X1080 with my Canon dslr T3i, on Pinnacle16. I edited it and added music and a few effects. I burned it in SD on a DVD first and then tried to burn a ...

  • Re: AW: Re: How to reset your AvStudio installation.

Just like magic when I opened Avid this morning it stated working. So I immediately went in and deleted all of my duplicated files in the library . Now it is working . In a previous post by Beauregard he let his machine set over night and it started working. Did Avid build in some magic into the program?

I had a lot of my files duplicated too and Avid would freeze up on ''init database'' somewhere I read to change my display setting to open Avid. Avid opened and I removed all the watch folders. I than removed all the captured files and the movie files except the sample movie that comes with Avid. I restarted ...

  • Re: Nikon D3100 and AVS

Jeff, thanks for the great explanation on DSLR and the cost to produce a good video and like you say it might be best to start with a prosumer level video cam and see how deep I want to go.

  • Re: DSLR auto-focus in video

Everybody thank you for your overwhelming response. I will take a look at the Panasonic ZS7 and the D5100 also the Sony HX7V & HX9V. Having to have 2 lens seem like a lot of hassle and I don't think I want to do that? I will be looking at the reviews listed by JKoch. I agree with JKoch that relaying on a LCD for focus in a bright ...

  • Re: Nikon D3100 and AVS

Thank you for all the usefull information. The focus issue seems to be a problem that I was unware of. And maybe a dedicated video cam would be a better choice. The D3100 was attachtive as the price is in my range & the phisical size is large enough for my big hands. The newer HD camcorders are much smaller and I have a hard time with ...
