SD & AVCHD on DVD's. I installed Pinnacle Studio 16 and kept Avid installed

Just like magic when I opened Avid this morning it stated
working. So I immediately went in and
deleted all of my duplicated files in the library . Now it is working . In a previous post by
Beauregard he let his machine set over
night and it started working. Did Avid build
in some magic into the program?

database'' somewhere I read to
change my display setting to open
Avid. Avid opened and I removed all the
watch folders. I than removed all the
captured files and the movie files except the sample movie that comes with

Jeff, thanks for the great explanation on DSLR and the cost to produce a good video and like you say it might be best to start with a prosumer level video cam and see how deep I want to go.

Everybody thank you for your overwhelming response. I will take a look at the Panasonic ZS7 and the D5100 also the Sony HX7V & HX9V.
