I don't believe the manual was free. I ordered the manual and it was an extra $10, I think.

Has anyone gotten the training file to download? If you have, what is your opinion of it? Is it worth the $50.00? I would like some training on the plug-ins that are provided with Studio 14 Collection.

My opinion, for what it's worth - Studio 14 Ultimate Collection is priced competitively with other programs in this level. Most consumer programs that offer some ''extras'' are in the $90.00 to $120.00 range. If you have Studio 12 and it is working for you, you don't need to shell out the cash for 14.

Not to split hairs here, but if you have the Canon HV 20, it is not AVCHD. The HV 20 records to tape. It is an HD camera. If you have the HG 20, then you have an AVCHD camera. If you captured from tape, I would check what format you are capturing in.

I am still trying to find the optimal render settings for AVCHD video to be distributed on DVD or Internet upload. But ...

Frankly, it's up to Sonic Fire to develop the plug-in for Studio. The ball is not in Avid's court. I have to agree with a previous poster that Sonic Fire is ''directing'' people to use their software. It lessens the support headache for them and I am sure they hope that people will be more inclined to invest in more music discs ...

Thanks. Followed those steps (although I didn't re-install the plug-ins, I still have Studio 12 installed), and they seem to be working fine.
