• Re: Re:Slooooowww Rendering an MP4

Pinnacle 25U is installed on a Samsung SSD 850 EVO, I'm using Windows 64 bit 10 Pro - latest build, 32 gigs of RAM and the video files being rendered are located on an M2 WD Black 500 GB hard drive. Again, if I open 23U and render the same file I'll get 80-83% usage from the CPU and it'll take 10-15 minutes to completely render out ...

  • Slooooowww Rendering an MP4

Hey All, Again, thanx to all who helped me figure out the Aspect Ratio Issue I was having (it was the Hardware Acceleration - went from Cuda to Intel = problem solved)... that issue started when I upgraded from 23U (on this computer) to 25U - as did THIS issue. In 23U it'd take me 10-15 minutes to render an hour of .avi video - after ...

  • Re: Display Aspect Ratio of 3:2 AFTER rendering...

Good point... I just assumed, again rightly or wrongly as I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, that if the 'captured' bitrate was 30 MB's per second then maybe I should be rendering out the MP4 at the same bitrate... right now I'm capturing some PAL footage from a miniDV tape and as I'm capturing it I can see the bitrate hovering ...

  • Re: Display Aspect Ratio of 3:2 AFTER rendering...

Sweet....Mother.....of....GOD! It worked. I changed the hardware accelerator from Cuda to Intel, rendered out the SAME video clip (of my gun caught in the holster) and it rendered out fine at 720x480 and 16:9. When I looked back at my previous installations of Pinnacle I see that they all used the Intel NOT Cuda. Why v. 25U ...

  • Re: Display Aspect Ratio of 3:2 AFTER rendering...

Well done sir!!! That's exactly how I would've done it as well... so clearly it's MY installation that won't let me use 720x480 in Widescreen nor will it let me increase the bitrate. The video captured in my sample was close to 20k MB's per second but the biggest I could get it to render out as is 8 or 9k per second.

And it's a true 16:9 in MediaInfo? Because mine said it RENDERED as a 720x480 16:9 but when I played it back I could tell it was too narrow and distorted so I checked it with MediaInfo and that's when I saw that it wasn't 16:9 but 3:2.

  • Re: Display Aspect Ratio of 3:2 AFTER rendering...

Hi Richard, No - I've always used the H.264/AVC preset for the format. I wish it (the possible solution) was that simple - just change a setting but I've changed nothing - I'm a creature of habit I'm afraid and my home business is converting peoples VHS/Camcorder & MiniDV tapes to digital MP4 video files and I've used Pinnacle since ...
