The strange thing is that AVID are still providing Smart Sound with Media Composer 4. Have a look at what's in the Box.

Products are often released at Major industry events. I would imagine that NextGen will be announced at CeBit, March 2-6 with a release around Mid-Summer. Peter, Did you download it or install it through Windows update?  If you installed it using Windows update then it should be stored in a hidden folder in C:\Windows\..
