Precisely, and why I never encountered this before. I just didn't want to downgrade the video quality or split the movie into Disc 1 and Disc 2, so when I saw the 'unlimited' option I thought I would give it a go!
I'll see what .iso comes up with, or split the movie.
I only ever create discs now if someone needs a physical copy. ...

Actually
David, you could replicate it easily - by dropping a long series of film onto
the timeline and then exporting using the same settings that I did, and not
burning to disc. It has always been my practice to 'create DVD image but not burn to disc'. I usually use Imgburn to create my discs later once I have played the DVD using ...

I have a 4 hour film, with a menu, which I want to export to a DVD 'file' (as opposed to an actual disc) for playing on my Network Media Player. In total, the Video_ts folder will probably be about 11Gb, too much even for a dual layer DVD-R, not that I am concerned with producing physical media.
I used Export Type 'Disc' , ...

Similar to my experience with S14. Neither of us need hold our breath waiting for a patch though.
Going to have to fully concentrate on S16 from now on. Would never have thought Corel were in cahoots with M$
I still need to keep abreast of S14 because my Dad uses it. S16 would be a bridge too far for him.
The ...

R_Vera:Here is a fix that Corel made for Windows 8.1. I am not sure if it will work with previous versions of Studio too.

I will not post a long and tedious account of my exasperating day yesterday. Suffice to say 'nothing is ever straightforward with PS'. My attempts to re-install S14 all ended in failure. There are plenty of other threads on here to bear testimony to the difficulties experienced in this endeavour.
I tried a 'repair' but ...

Amongst all the chatter here regarding S15 and Win 8.1, and elsewhere regarding S16 and Win 8.1, I noticed that rifr1 had S14 Ultimate in his profile. It was not immediately clear within this discussion which versions of PS would be affected. Jeff has sensibly separated any talk of S16 and Win 8.1 from here, and the solution ...

Thanks Jeff, knew I'd read it somewhere on here.
Yes, I have PS16 running fine on W8 now, and I agree that W8.1 isn't actually a new OS (I shouldn't have called it that). What I'm still not sure about is whether 8.1 is going to be radically different than the preview Windows Blue.
I guess I'll let others experiment in October.... and ...

Apologies for starting a new thread, but I can't find the recent discussion regarding the Windows 'Blue' Preview which I'm sure sure contained a fairly explicit warning from several on here (you will know who you are!) who suggested that there may be issues with the new OS and PS16. Did I imagine this?
If anyone out there has had the ...

Thanks Bob,
I'll try that too next time. I can see how that would (appear to) work.
It's a workaround nevertheless.
