So are you saying you can capture from the camera (iow create a PAL DV avi file on the PC) and then when you go and create a standard PAL project with THAT captured file you cannot get the camera to record what you play back durng ''make movie'' to tape? ....................................... and Can you post the exact set of settings you ...

The auto stop/start is fine. The picture and sound break up and I do not get a picture on the DV screen.................... screen on the camera itself?   You have dirty/worn heads/cylinder on the cam - clean/replace, and no use trying to capture in Studio if you cannot produce a quality picture on the camera itself first
