An Amendment to previous answer to Lvr Questions
The studio screen plays back the finished article 100% to disc and file, but stutters both in audio and video when in Make Tape mode
There you go then - the camera/cabling etc has absolutely no bearing on ...

As said earlier the make file and disc functions are 100% good, its onlt the make tape transfer that is not working 100%
Once copied to tape both sound and video (on playback viea Camcordsdr are intermittent ( like Norman Collier!!)
Could it be a glitch ...

So are you saying you can capture from the camera (iow create a PAL DV avi file on the PC) and then when you go and create a standard PAL project with THAT captured file you cannot get the camera to record what you play back durng ''make movie'' to tape? ....................................... and

Perhaps one more try:
You feeding the wrong video std material to the cam perhaps? - eg - PAL camera with NTSC ...

The auto stop/start is fine. The picture and sound break up and I do not get a picture on the DV screen.................... screen on the camera itself?
You have dirty/worn heads/cylinder on the cam - clean/replace, and no use trying to capture in Studio if you cannot produce a quality picture on the camera itself first

Results with Vista SP2 (erm Windows 7) on the web thus far would have me believe throughput has indeed been addressed.
I only held up my Raptor and SAS results to illustrate the incredible expected throughput if your 5X claim for i7 indeed panned out .

Have a 10000rpm SATA2 Raptor disk and a 10000rpm SAS disk here ..................... copying large files in either direction gets me around 128MB/s ...
