I personally don't trust those Movie Boxes.
You say you work with mini-dv. Do you have a mini-dv camcorder you can pass the hi-8 through ? When you capture, have you tried ''no scene detection'' ?
I do a lot of transfer work. Don't get much out of sync audio.
Audio should stick with video.
Are you capturing in AVI ?

Dana. If you captured the tape from the Canon camera with your V1U, You have to set the VCR playback in your V1U camera to the same tape format as the Canon. Either DVCAM or HDV. You have to find out how they shot the tape.
I have a Sony V1U.

No patches since 12.1. (which is pretty stable) I'm still using it.
Then we get 14, then 15 and AS. No patches probably.
It's obvious that marketing is the game here. Avid can't stay in business unless they sell something. They need new programs, not free patches.

That's called marketing. So 14 is the only one without SS ? Glad I stayed with 12.1.

As this post states. For the best quality, capture in DV AVI. Drag that to the timeline. Edit out what you want to get rid of. Render what you have left to an MPEG-2 File. This is your best ...

Kind of like, '' It's now or never ''. This happens every time just before a new release.
