Scott, your ocean project reproduces the audio drop issue.  Thank you for sharing it with me.   Jim, our support team has added your feedback to the same bug.  Thanks both of you for the details.  The issue is under investigation by our developers, for resolution at the earliest.

I wouldn't expect Studio 9 to install on W10.     If it did work, I would also recommend installing Studio 12 or so, first opening each project there and re-saving in that format.  But I don't know if the edits in the Studio 9 projects will survive that twice-converted trip.   Good luck!
