Sorry, I guess I misread your previous post, I thought your were trying to remove a color background...spectramatte is a chroma keyer.....you could use paint for this type of work by setting the brush to erase, but the animatte masking would proabably be easier....it is very powerful for doing rotoscoping work.

You mentionned that you used AvidFX for cloning on video, well this can be done directly inside of MC by using the Paint filter in the image tab of effects...it can also be used for things like blurs, creating vignettes, mosaics etc....it is really powerful. What you are seeing is the new release (Version 3) of the software. Lew is right that all across the board, except for DS that Avid is the same. Symphony Nitris (Nitris is the Hardware, Symphony the software) brings mastering tools, speed, more realtime and better color correction...other wise Symphony and MC are the same.
