I'm almost as bad...I grilled steaks in the rain last night. I was holdin' an umbrella in one hand and a cold beer in the other and a fork in the other - er, wait that's too many, isn't it? Now I realize why sometimes I'd go for a swig of beer and get a poke in the eye. Ever notice about the time you take the steaks up the ...

  • Re: Wedding Video, any advice would be appreciated

towbar:I understand completely about keeping it short, but that's what chapters are for. The complete ceremony will be on one chapter, then the others will be created as the mood fits. 12 minutes seems to be a maximum length of a chapter for me. I usually have the entire ceremony uncut with chapters at the sub-events - bride entrance, ''I ...

  • Re: What is the best format for making movie to DVD and retain the best resolution?

Marc P.: bsdennis: I would still be concerned about the difference in frame rate of 8mm film (typically 15-16 fps) vs 30 fps (29.97) for NTSC television. We capture 8000 - 9000 ft per month with a frame by frame method using a 3-CCD camera via Firewire to avi files in a custom built computer. We capture directly off the emulsion vs. ...

  • Re: Area 51 and still counting?

towbar:This is the last year that I'm going to do this for free, next year the marching band is going to have to pay me at least five dollars. A man owned a small ranch near Sheridan, Wyoming. The Wyoming Labor Department got a tip that he was not paying proper wages to his help and sent an investigator out to interview him. ''I need a list ...

towbar: This is the last year that I'm going to do this for free, next year the marching band is going to have to pay me at least five dollars. The free ones are the hardest to finish, aren't they? I still have 20 hours of video from an Oregon coast trip that my wife, my parents and I took September 2007....It's in the ...

  • Re: Rotating photo on story board

I create several slideshows per week with all photos animated - some degree of zoom and pan. I hate the portraits that customers bring in to include in the slideshow. If you get rid of the black on the sides, you lop off Grandma's head. So I just start zoomed out (black bars all around) and zoom in until the photo fills the top and ...
