Damn!! Never mind. I figured it out. For some reason the project type was ''hard set'' to PAL, and the output presets follow that. Never noticed that before because I always let the project type set to the format of the first clip added. Sorry!! B

I just noticed that YouTube has added 1080p support and I wanted to see if I could render a recent project to 1080p for a test. What I found was that in my S14 version, I can only output to PAL standards. All the ...

Forgive me for asking what is probably a simple question ... I haven't had time to pay much attention to S14 yet because of so many active projects ... but S14 was supposed to automatically transfer content from S12 to S14. I have S12 on the machine that I installed S14, and it says it transferred all available content, but it did not transfer ...

Did it automatically show up in the S14 UI? If yes, I wonder if this will work for Bias SoundSoap. B  

Why can't Studio 14 automatically take advantage of/install any/all previous plugins that are compatible with S14 and are already on your computer? No Bias SoundSoap, previous video effects missing, etc. If find myself going back to S12 rather than facing the obstacles of figuring out how to get the effects I want into S14. B  

Now I feel foolish again. I hadn't even bothered to look in the folder and was just using the ''recent projects'' link to try to re-open them. I guess feeling foolish is better than having to rebuild the project  B

One thing to watch out for ... I foolishly opened a couple of my completed S12 projects with generated SmartSound in S14 (and saved them I guess). The SS doesn't play in S14 and now I can't open the project in S12. Of course, I have the HD rendered output from the projects, but if I need to re-edit anything, I have a problem. B  

jjn: So is the output MPEG2's video quality equivalent between S12 and S14?That's my next challenge A quick view of the four resulting files doesn't show any obvious/major difference in quality, and the two MPGs and two AVIs are virtually identical in file size. MPGs=66MB, AVIs=319MB B

I tried the experiment in NTSC and PAL. For PAL, I let the initial file background render before Make Movie. The times were roughly the same ... +/– a few seconds ... and the pattern was the same. B
