I meant codec. I am not at all versed in video-editing jargon.

So, I turned the Bitrate up to Lossless in order to remedy the issue. When the conversion finally finished, I played it using Windows' player and the color looked exactly how I need it to look. When I opened it in Pinnacle, the color is back to being awful. I am losing my mind.

I think this sort of worked. I went with MKV this time, and there was no color loss upon converting, but some clarity was lost on the visuals, as you can see towards the background:

I guess I will have to tweak and play with the Presets a bit more, but this was a step in the right direction!
