• Re: Pinnacle Studio 24 Ultimate performance woes

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Also thanks for mentioning optimized encoding. Turns out I was not using any of those options and it was still quick and painless. Now it will probably be way faster with those settings enabled. Thanks!

  • Re: Re:slow preview

Hmm, output resolution may make the preview generation faster, but it will still happen every single time you mildly change something. From my experience so far making reasonably low resolution temporary files allows to turn previews off completely and enjoy some smooth sailing from there. It may not be the most efficient way, but it does provide ...

  • Re: Re:slow preview

I have found a slightly stupid ''solution'' to this, as discussed in this topic: http://forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/thread/812794.aspx Basically you convert your input to lower resolution (I did half of FullHD) versions and use those for editing, then, when it's time to render, just replace them with originals. Sounds inefficient, but in ...

jjn:Let us know how you get on. It should be totally unnessary, as the Playback Optimisation system created mpeg-2 files at half res if you have it set to fastest. A lower bitrate doesn't make files easier to decode. But if that's what you need to do you use Studio, there is something seriously wrong with Studio ;-) Well, I stopped at 960x540 as ...

  • Re: Pinnacle Studio 24 Ultimate performance woes

Tried that suggestion after the update, seems like that was not what had a strong effect. But I did find a way to relatively easily convert all the used video files into lower resolution/bitrate versions and it has just changed the Pinnacle Studio life entirely. Optimization off in settings, everything reacts instantly, preview goes on as ...

  • Re: Pinnacle Studio 24 Ultimate performance woes

Not only the latest drivers for the card - I actually just updated basically all the system drivers from AMD and Intel, updated the motherboard firmware, installed all the non-Windows-default drivers for all the hardware that has them. Ran the project, had smooth start and was happy until half a minute later the usual started happening again. I ...

  • Pinnacle Studio 24 Ultimate performance woes

Hello, all. As a relatively new user I have been enjoying the workflow of PS24, but certainly not the performance with the timeline. Which is really strange, since the full resolution/quality export is generally quite fast (about 1/3rd of real time) and actually visibly (or, rather audibly, listening to the fans) using the graphics card. My ...

  • Re: Behaviour on high resolution/multiple monitors.

Yes, different resolution and DPI. But seems like I found a solution (a free one, that is): http://windowgrid.net/ The way it behaves takes a little getting used to, but after that it is easy to just snap the window to the screen edges the way you want and everything works out quite well. Basically you click the window titlebar and hold ...

  • Re: Behaviour on high resolution/multiple monitors.

I see. Not quite the answer I wanted to hear... But perhaps someone else has found some sort of a solution. Perhaps I should try the different varieties of per-app scaling options Windows 10 offers. But then it's hard to tell how stable or unstable PS would be...

  • Behaviour on high resolution/multiple monitors.

Hello, all. Is anyone else having a rather hard time with PS24 on a higher resolution monitor + additional monitor? (Windows 10) No matter what scaling I pick maximizing the window makes it either completely jump off to the side and/or scale to about 1.5x the screen size. Using it windowed does not let one use the entire screen area by adding a ...
