Many thanks for your quick reply and explanation. I found an online converter called Convertio and produced an Mpeg2 file which has happily imported to Pinnacle. This digital editing is a minefield to a beginner!!

Reading this thread I have downloaded Route Generator. The finished movie is saved as an AVI file. I imported this into Studio 23 in the usual way. However although it plays all I get is an orange padlock on the screen. It will open and play in Photo Gallery, Movie Maker and VLC Media Player.
Any ideas would be welcome as ...

Thank you very much for your time on this and applying some logic! I've now tried deleting titles & see exactly what you are saying. I was getting fixated on the film source, being mp4, and trying to avoid starting again. What an excellent forum this is. Thanks again for your help & advice.

I'm sorry, I'm not terribly good with terminology. Yes I mean project and it is saved as a movie.axp file which I then subsequently inserted into the timeline of my main film.
However if I clear everything and bring the movie.axp project file in question onto the timeline on its own (where it is titled Split Screen Template ...

I have Studio 23 Basic.
I made up a film clip which includes some split screen frames and saved
it. Later I inserted the clip into the
main film. Now I want to edit the split
screen section. So by using the ‘Open in
Sub Editor’ command I have worked backwards until the timeline shows the ‘Split

Thank you Tony for your help. I was able to highlight all my studio projects and ''re-link'' successfully and amended all the future destinations to my F: drive.
I then copied the Videos folder from my C: to F: drive. To free up space on the C: drive I then deleted the contents of the Videos folder, where my Captures ...
