Depends on what's in the transport stream - they are normally mpeg-2. You might just need to rename them.

F.Zwarts:it seems that AVCHD is too complex for smart rendering.Studio 17 is attempting to implement Smart render for AVCHD/H.264. They aren't there yet. Other NLEs offer it, although I'm not sure how successful they all are. If I was making an important project, I wouldn't trust smartrender to get it right.

The only lossless format you can use in PS is Uncompressed AVI. The files are huge and will choke if you try to play them back in real time.
Other lossless codecs can't be used. They still make very big files. IMHO a second generation high bitrate MTS export is more that adequate for consumer use. You could up the bitrate more and use the higher ...

jvsajan:If I import the ISO through Virtual Clone and replace the menu portion with a title screen and render it to a mpg2 1080p, will I have degraded the image quality? If so, in your opinion, would it be detectable on a large flat screen tv(like 50'')?In my opinion, to a casual observer the degradation will not be apparent. If you were to ...

Many software companies allow you to install software on a desktop and laptop for your individual use, assuming that you won't be using both the programs at the same time. The license for Studio does not allow this, but they have no way of checking that you haven't ...

Canuck: DTVPro:
The mp4 preset in Studio reduces the vertical resolution, and also uses the Simple codec. The other programs may be using the H.264 codec.
Keep in mind the H.264 codec is available in Studio as well, and that's what I've been using with all applications when rendering to MP4.Ah, I assumed you were using the the presets. ...

Grainy and washed out don't sound like definitely something to do with interlacing to me. The mp4 preset in Studio reduces the vertical resolution, and also uses the Simple codec. The other programs may be using the H.264 codec. They may be doing 2 pass rendering.
If you apply your newly found de-interlace filter, doee it make matters better or ...

The file types I can consistently export from Photoshop and get to work with transparency are PNG, PSD and TIF.

Very slick Tony. It shows that Montages can really make the difference when used in the right proportion to the rest of the movie.
There were a few moments where I wanted the In or Out shots to be held a little longer before or after the montage, but I'm really nit-picking :-)
