• Re: Totally at a loss with this

Like Skipper 123 I find it easier to watch a tutorial than read something and try to produce what it says. When I bought Pinnacle Studio 15 Ultimate I also invested in the Complete Training for Pinnacle 14 & 15 by Paul Holtz and have found it very useful and well worth the money. The other thing I found very helpful in keeping Pinnacle ...

  • Re: Studio 14 - "segment is too short"

I had this happen to me on one occasion and I eventually tracked it down to a minute bit of video just in front of the menu. I obviously didn't quite have the menu at the very front of the clip when I inserted it on the timeline and it split the clip leaving a tiny segment in front of the menu. Once I deleted it the problem was solved.

  • Re: Please help ...questions re encoding and re rendering and their effects on output

I am using Studio 15. I find that if, like you, I am having to tweak, add, remove and insert effects into footage it is best to keep saving it as a project file. You can also use the 'save as' function to save it into different editions of the same project file as you go along if you wish. Other than that each time I change something I ...

  • Re: Alternatives

I have always used Corel Video Studio and only got Pinnacle when I couldn't achieve the results I wanted from my Panasonic Tm700 on DVD using Corel. Personally I find Corel much quicker and easier to use than Pinnacle. It has also been much more stable for me than Pinnacle. Every time I ask for moving thumbnails in the disc menu ...

  • Re: Advice on Pinnacle settings to capture VHS tapes

Hi Albie So far I have only used Corel to capture in AVI. It is the programme I am most familiar with and touch wood I have found it very reliable and stable. I only started to use Pinnacle when I got the hd camcorder and this records to sdhc card which I download to a file using Windows Explorer and then access the file from within ...

  • Re: Does tweaking/re rendering movie file cause loss of Image Quality??

I have a Panasonic HDC-TM700 and that produces AVCHD files. I find that if I work on the files and save them as ''Project Files'' I can come back to them and edit them and save the changes many times without losing any quality. Only when I have the finished article do I then make a video file or burn it to disc.

  • Re: Advice on Pinnacle settings to capture VHS tapes

Although I do use Pinnacle I have not explored all its capabilities. I have used Corel Videostudio for many years and find it very good. I only invested in Pinnacle when I got an hd camcorder and couldn't get the results on dvd I wanted from Corel initially (I have now managed to find the best workaround for it and the results are now ...

  • Re: Advice on Pinnacle settings to capture VHS tapes

Dont know if this will be of much help but I have just converted some tapes for people using Corel video Studio. I used my Panasonic NV-GS400 camcorder as a conduit to connect the vhs player to the laptop and downloaded the tape via firewire capturing in avi format. Having mistakenly captured one section in mpeg format the loss of ...

  • Re: AW: Cannot uninstall Studio 15

An update on my post. I didn't realise how much Pinnacle clogs up the hard drive with auxiliary files. When I asked Pinnacle to delete auxiliary files I regained 100gb of hard disk space. Since then Pinnacle has resumed working and I have been able to complete the project I was working on and have been working on fresh material ...

  • Re: can not burn dvd pinnacle 15

Do you mean the message that comes up once you've selected create disc which asks you to select a file? I have also received a message saying the file already exists so I just create another one with another name and that has enabled me to go ahead and burn the disc. Just wondering if it might do the same for you.
