• Re: does anybody know how to import from old camcorders

Hi Luke, I am not sure if you have tried, or need it, but have you applied the Windows 10 patch for Dazzle from Corel? It is mentioned here: https://kb.corel.com/en/126537 The patch is: http://cdn.pinnaclesys.com/Release/PSD/PinnacleStudio_Patch_1.0.2.exe

  • Re: does anybody know how to import from old camcorders

Hi Luke, If you are connecting your camcorder to the computer using a Firewire cable you may have to install the Microsoft Firewire 1394 Legacy Driver Installer to capture video in Windows 10. The camcorder should be detected and controllable in the ''Import'' tab under ''Capture Video ''. USB connection is only used on Digital 8 ...

  • Re: Super Glitchy Editing...

The title is ''super glitchy editing'' and the OP wrote about proxy editing. How is this hijacking the thread?

  • Re: Super Glitchy Editing...

Hi, I have completed two videos using the new Corel Videostudio 2022 which now has proxy editng using the creation of ProRes files. I was able to edit high bitrate UHD video smoothly on my modest system which would be impossible with Pinnacle Studio. I would switch back to Pinnacle in an instant if this SmartProxy function could be adopted ...

  • Re: Question on time remapping

Hi Todd, Just out of curiosity, have you tried using a 24fps (23.976) timeline for the clips rather than 30fps? This requires less a speed change (75% of original if filmed at 18fps). I do this with my Super 8 reels and it seems to work well.

  • Re: Dolly Zoom Effect in Pinnacle Studio 25 ultimate

Hi, The way I do dolly zoom effects in Pinnacle Studio is to film the subject while I move towards (or away) from the subject keeping it in focus but not zooming. The subject is static. I then bring the clip onto the timeline and open up the ''Pan and Zoom'' tab. Enabling keyframes, I keyframe the first frame. I then go to the final ...

  • Re: Smart object tracking

Hi @jjn, Thanks for your response. As seems typical of late, cool features that are unusable due to core performance issues. I hope they can spend the time on one release to address this problem and make the program the editing experience it should be.

  • Re: 4k editing

Hi, A real proxy function is still not integrated into Pinnacle Studio and SmartProxy only works in multicam mode, not on the regular timeline. It is inconceivable this is still the case and makes 4K editing slow not to mention the new 8K modes. I create lower resolution offline proxy files in Handbrake, edit them in Pinnacle, and then swap ...

  • Re: Re:Pinnacle Studio 25?

Hi Tony P, Thanks for your thoughts. It is good to know that Studio 25 handles 10bit files from the G9. I hope to get that camera in the future. I just wish Corel would integrate a proxy or SmartProxy mode for those of us with less robust systems. I was happy to see smart masking as a new feature since this is a capability that I put on the ...
