Hi All, I'm testing out the trial version of Studio 26 on a brand new PC and fresh install (specs below). I've found that the video files from my camcorder (again, specs below) don't have any sound when attempting to play them in Studio from either the Source or Timeline. I have no issues with the audio if I use Studio 20 or any other video player on my PC (VLC, Windows Media Player, etc...). I've also tried enabling 3rd Party Codec use within Studio 26 with the same results (no audio). I also noticed that if I drag the video onto the timeline, the visual waveform of the audio stays as a flat line.

I'd love to upgrade to Studio 26, but this would be a showstopper if I need to convert all my videos just to do some simple edits. Any thoughts?

My system specs below.

I just dropped a MTS file from my old Canon camcorder on the timeline. The audio is the same as yours, but the video is MTS and MediaInfo showing Codec AVC. That is the only difference between mine and yours.

Question. Have opened the sample movie or tried any other video on the timeline?

Do the VU meters in the lower left of the PS window move when playing a clip with audio?

If you right mouse click on the Windows speaker icon on the Taskbar, Open Volume Settings, Apps, is PS at 100?

I'm wondering if it's a restriction of the trial version (not supporting formats for which Corel would need to pay royalties)?

I also use .MTS files here having AC-3 (Dolby 2-channel) audio, and they work fine with sound in the full versions of Studio (probably in every version since 11 or 12)

Thanks for the quick response! In answer to your questions, the sample movie and other videos work fine. There is no movement on the VU meters when playing a clip, and as previously mentioned, no wave forms on the audio track, even if I separate the audio from the video. Volume settings on the task bar is 100% for Pinnacle Studio (again, other videos play fine).

Open to any other ideas. It seems to be a very specific problem for the specific video/audio format which is odd to me for a brand new PC. I may try installing v20 along side v26 to see if something changes.

Are you talking about the trial or full version of PS26 ?

Thanks for the clip. I can report that it plays back just fine in PS26U. No issues, no problems. Screenshot below shows the audio meters happily moving while the clip is playing on the timeline. 

Mind you, this is the paid version of PS26 Ultimate.
