    Pinnacle/VTS Question

Somehow I managed to lose an axp file for a Pinnacle 24 project I was working on.  I had done a number of edits to a project.  I must have inadvertently deleted it.  Unfortunately, I had also cleared out my Recycle Bin. What I did find, however, was the VIDEO_TS folder because I had created DVDs for family members (sent out of town so I don't have any copies here I can find).  I have two VTS_xx files that I can play and see my video with the edits I had made.

Unfortunately, I can't just drop those into Pinnacle and continue with my project.  Or I should say I don't know how to do that.  Is it possible?  I do have my original source (an .avi file created from a VHS tape) so I could just start over, but I had done a lot of edits which I could get back if I could use the VTS files.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Are all your project files deleted or just that one in particular. PS usually has a .bak file of the axp files. All it would take is renaming that file and you should be good.

Unfortunately, that is also gone, but thanks for the suggestion.

Is the structure of the DVD complete ? Is there some .ifo and .bup files along with .vob files in the VIDEO_TS folder ?

    Re: Re:Pinnacle/VTS Question

The VIDEO_TS folder has the files you mentioned:  VIDEO_TS,_BUP,  VIDEO_TS.IFO,  VIDEO_TS.VOB,  VTS_01_0.BUP,  VTS_01_IFO,  and then the 2 VOB files I mentioned that has the video.

Then you can import it in Studio.

    Open the Importer

    Select DVD/Blu-Ray tab

    Unfold the Tree view

Browse your computer to the location of the VIDEO_TS folder. The DVD title should be found and you will be able to click the Start import button.

    Re: Re:Pinnacle/VTS Question

That worked!  Thank you very much.  As I had indicated, I had the original .avi source, but I had done a lot of edits that needed to be done, so this saved me from having to do all of that again.

Not that you care, but this was a video from a 1988 family reunion done on a VHS tape I had transferred to my PC and it had many family members who have since passed away.  Their children and grandchildren appreciated seeing them "alive" once again.

    Thanks again for helping me.

Reviving memories is always a great moment with family members !   Yes

Glad I could help you out.
