Pinnacle 25 freeze and crash with timeliner

My pinnacle 25 crashes frequently. Only 25. I cannot seem to run a project without it crashing. It usually happens when I drag the cursor and scroll through the timeline. The video will scan and then eventually freeze. It does not seem to be restricted to any one video or type of video. If I reopen I can sometimes continue working, but then I may or may not crash again. I can tell I am crashing when the preview window locks.

I upgraded from Pinnacle 24. I never once had this issue with this version- not once. I have uninstalled, cleaned out the install, redownloaded, and reinstalled.

I crash in event viewer and receive three faults from the action. They appear related to my graphics card. In the Windows Event Viewer:

    First Fault:

Faulting application name: Pinnacle Studio.exe, version: 25.1.0.345, time stamp: 0x62207fd3

Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000

    Faulting package-relative application ID:

    Third Fault:

Unable to open the Server service performance object. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the status code.

Is this a known thing? I have updated my drivers and like I mentioned prior- no problems from Pinnacle 24 at all. It works great. BUT I bought the upgrade, so I would like to use that, but I can't if I keep faulting like this.

    Thoughts?
