Studio 20 Is there a thread?

Whilst i used a very early Studio version 10?  i found it very user friendly. i didn't want a hollywood blockbuster type of composition, but quite happy to edit out all the odd and unwanted bits of video

As it was not compatible with digial recording, i had to upgrade to the then current version which was Studio 20.

As the ealier one was very easy to use, i found this to be the opposite end of the spectrum. It appears to be the basic version and all the tutorials seem to be aimed at the ultimate version

In fact  in the on line tutorials when malik goes on about editing cutting etc i notice that my version does not have some of the  facilities he uses, in fact all i have is a 'razor blade' icon. Even then trying to use this i get completely lost

I have a lot of trailcam videos of foxes ,but these consist of 20 secs of fox and 100 seconds of nothing

The question is How do i do this on Pinnacle 20 basic.

I really need an idiots hand hold on the  in the manner of

Drag clip to top LH box

In RH box move timer to position where you want the cut to start

    click on razor?

    move to end of cut

    Click on razor?

    sand then hit the delete

Or am i going in the wrong direction

At the moment is is just a useless ( to me) program

Can anyone help a dummy to overcome my problem. I feel once i get the hanf of that other facilities will follow

    Thanks in Advance

So your question is how to set a IN and OUT point to a clip in the library and then send it to timeline ?

    Re: Re:Studio 20 Is there a thread?

I do not have PS20 installed any more, but with PS23, ?>User Manual took me to the online manual for it.

    Did you try that yet?

Who told you to buy anything else ? Not me.

I asked you a simple question to clarify what you're willing to do.

In the ? Menu of PS20, there is a link to the user manual.

Re: Pinnacle 20 BASIC not the ultimate version

while a lot of the tutorials have a lean towards the Ultimate version, trimming and editing clips is exactly the same if you try it. Have you?

Re: Pinnacle 20 BASIC not the ultimate version

No need to open a separate thread. I've merged both.

As noted the any tutorial that covers this for Ultimate 20 will work for something like this which is in all versions.

Here's a link to the manual:

    • Drag and drop the clip from the Library to the timeline.
    • Drag the scrubber/playhead to where you want to split the clip
    • Click on the Razor Blade icon
    • Select the part you don't want using your mouse
    • Click on the Bin icon.

Pretty much how you do it in PS10. Of course there are more sophisticated ways of editing, but that's a starting point.
