This is only a small matter but if it could be achieved would save me quite a bit of time in adding the various commentaries that I have to do.

When selecting voice over, Studio opens up a voice over track which is situated 3 or 4 tracks below those that I am currently using on my project. In order to be able to aline it correctly with the clips, I am copying it to move it up, so that it is nearer to the clip concerned. Is there a way of telling Studio which track I want it to use please?

It's not possible. 

But instead of copying/pasting the content of the voice over track why don t you simply drag and drop the header of the voice over track to move it upward ?

I have tried that Yann but with the quite complicated timeline that I have it often inadvertently displaces some of the other content and so I find it safer the copy and paste as it is more precise.

When you displace a track it moves its all content up and down, regardless of the horizontal layout of the elements in this track or in other tracks. I mean, it can t mess up horizontal synchronicity of any element in any track.

Yes Yann, but sometimes when moving it it moves further than intended and merges into another track. That is what I try to avoid.

Bob, what Yann is saying is click on the actual header of the trac (where the track number ad description etc are) and drag that up

You must click an empty area of the track header with the left mouse button, hold it and move upward or downward. The mouse pointer should become an arrow with a +.  When the track is where you want, release left button.

Thanks Yann and Kite Flyer. I think I now know what you are saying. I have been moving the voice over itself from one track to another. If I understand you correctly, you are saying to move actual track up higher. I assume then that it will remain there and any subsequent voice overs that I add will appear where I want them on the new track position.
