    PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

Having successfully burned a DVD from a project I am attempting to burn a Blu-ray version, but have tried 4 times without success. The process appears to be working correctly until it reaches the end when it says 'Export completed' but does not eject the disc as with the DVD. When I play the Blu-ray all that appears on it is the intro video with no other content apparently burned. Has anyone any ideas as to how I might resolve this please?

Would you browse the Blu-ray on your PC with Windows Explorer and report what you find into its STREAM subfolder ?

    Hi Yann

Many thanks for responding. Sorry it has taken me so long but I have been busy on some other things and not had time to revisit this problem. Here is what is inside the Stream folder.

2 m2ts files the first one showing 00000.m2ts and the second showing 00100.m2ts.The first file is 2,662,080 KB and the second 2,496 KB.

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

Ok. And what if you play the 00100.m2ts file ? Is it your complete movie ?

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

    Hi Yann

I cannot get the 100 file to play in VCL Media Player to check, but there is the 00000 file in studio called stream and I have dragged the stream file onto the timeline in PS23 and there is the complete movie present, although it has distorted to what appears to be a 4.3 ratio rather than the correct 16.9.

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

My bad. I was thinking to 0000 but wrote 100 instead.

the 00000 file plays in VCL Media Player and appears complete but there is still the distortion to 4.3 ratio.

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

You may try to export the BR image without burning it and use an external tool like Imgburn to create the physical disk.

Will it retain the menu if I do that Yann?

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

I have burnt the image in PS23 and am going to try to produce the video files using Nero. Can you tell me where i can find the image file that I have created please.

    Only you can know.

The image is located in a folder named accordingly with what you wrote inside "File name" field. The path present in the "Destination" field is where this folder is located. Inside this folder you should find a BDMV and a CERTICATE subfolders. That's what Nero must use to burn the BR :

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

Thanks Yann. In my haste to get it done I forgot the name the file and so it will be the same as the previous ones with a higher suffix number.

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

My next problem is how to get those files into Nero as they are folders and when I click add files in Nero, they will not go into Nero because they are folders and not files.

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

    I quote myself :

    saby:

A BR image it's some folders and files. Nero must burn the folders and all the files that they contain. It's been years that I've not used Nero, so I don't know it very well. There must be an option to burn an image and therefore select the folders that I mentionned in my quote.

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

I have discovered that I need to use Nero vision first and have put the two .2mts files in there. I can then get as far as requesting the output to disc and when I select finalizing, 'burn' appears as an option. However, when I click on it nothing happens. The other odd thing is that the aspect ratio is shown as 4.3, yet I used 16.9 in the original timeline settings.

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

If you only select the m2ts files you loose the menus.

Forget Nero and use Imgburn instead.

It s free and you can easily burn the image with it.

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

    Hi Yann

Unfortunately the burn process failed and judging by the pattern written on the disc it has done exactly the same a PS23 did when burning it. I was unable to load the certificate folder into Express Burn (seems different to img burn as instructions link you provided was entirely different to how it worked) as it rejected it. I might try again but fear I will get the same result.

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

Yes Yann that was the programme that was in the link that you provided. I just assumed it was the new name for img burn. I have had another look and found it in a list entitled mirror 7 and downloaded it from there. Now installed and I am going to try another Blu-ray.

No. If you reach this page : https://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download   clic any mirror link top of the page and it will download Imgburn.

Re: Re:PS23 Will Not Burn Blu-ray

I followed all of the steps in the tutorial and everything went okay until I reached the write stage and then I got an i.o error and it said invalid address for write. This happened again when I tried a second time.
