How do I make a 640x360 or 640x640 Vertical tall movie for a smart phone?

I need to make a 640x360 or 640x640 Vertical tall movie for a smart phone so it will fit a cell phone screen in the vertical position... not horizontal.

I assume there must be a way to crop off the sides to fit a 16:9 or Square format just like a photo.   What is the trick for doing this?

Only PS24 and 25 can create vertical videos.

With prior versions, you can crop a landscape format image to add vertical black bars, but it remains an horizontal video that would display very bad on a cellphone in a vertical position.

To be a pedant, it is actually possible to distort and crop your source video and export in portrait or square aspect ratios using custom setting in earlier versions of Studio, the result being a portrait or square movie, but it's a complex workround and you have no true idea of how the movie is going to look in the end. Even when you have made it your smart phone might not display it correctly. I've done this once in the past, creating a Square video that did work when posted to Facebook, but I would now simply use the correct program for the job - i.e. PS24/25.

Thank you Saby & Jin.  I have PS 24 but never installed it (too busy).  I Ordered PS 25 but its lost somewhere and its being looked into but that was a month ago so I'm stuck with PS 22 for now.

But I found another solution for this very simple project we are doing on a very short fuse and no budget... I will shoot the 10 sec clip on my Galaxy S20 and edit in the Video Maker app.

Meanwhile... I'll do another follow-up to my lost PS25 order... again...!!!
