Looking back over the last couple of years, new versions of Studio seemed to have been released around this time of year, so with no signs of a patch to fix the problems that the last patch caused does anyone think we are likely to see PS25 any time soon?

After reading all the features on PS 25, I am impressed, beat my Resolve Studio.

I hope they were tested.

Just purchased the PS25 upgrade. Ran the installer, input the serial number I was provided, clicked "Next", and NOTHING HAPPENS. It just sits there.

Did chat support--not helpful at all. They created a trouble ticket and I will be contacted by email.

Never had this problem with a Pinnacle installer before. Not off to a good start... 

Figured out the problem with the installer so I'll post in case others have the same issue. If you run the PS25 installer, input your serial number, click "Next" and nothing happens:

--keep clicking the "Next" button multiple times until you get an error message in red, then click "Next" again

--on the next screen where the legal info would normally load, you will see a blank page that could not load; ignore it and click "Next"

--continue as usual and install

 

The download/installation was extremely quick. Played around a bit with some footage, music and FX--everything is very "snappy". Exporting to file seems faster compared to PS24 and below. 

Does anyone know if the problems with the title editor have been fixed.ie In PS24 it was impossible to delete a part of a title from the preview window display - this had to be done via the text box, which made it too cumbersome for me. Secondly, it was not possible to save a title to a specified duration. 

If you highlight some words and hit Delete the whole text is deleted, but if you hit backspace, only the highlighted part is deleted.

Saving a title to a specific duration is working.

Issues here also with install of 25 ultimate. Installer starts ok but stalls at around 140Mb each time. Multiple clicks of "next" does not help.  I would say that this is a different issue. Very dissapointing. Have raised a ticket and waiting full of hope. :-)

Thanks for that Yann. If I place the cursor behind a particular part of the text and then hit delete, does that just delete the portion to the right of the cursor? That is how I normally delete portions of text and consequently makes it quicker for me to use as I don't have to stop and think.

No, unfortunately, it deletes the whole text, like in PS24.

Look what turned up in my email this morning having finally got PS25U to install.

Last night after having purchased it and downloaded the installer, I tried to install, I could enter all my details and my key, however about 15 seconds after hitting the install button a message popped up suggesting i check my internet connection which was working fine. I tried a couple of times with the same results so called it a night.

This morning after having read a few things on the internet, I downloaded the installer again and it ran without any problem, so I'll have a good look around later, I did open it up and check that it saw my full version of multicam capture ok.

Next job is to burn a copy of the install files to a DVD, I'm old school and would much prefer a disc version rather than a digital only

I would definitely trust more a digital link (https://www.pinnaclesys.com/en/landing/download/?redirlang=en) rather than the chemical dye of a burnt DVD.

Save the install files to your google drive, or a USB stick and keep it safe. DVDs are not the safe haven you imagine, when the structural integrity of the dye substrate fails so will your data, this can be anything from 3 months to 30 years. 

An even better solution : save the link I provided in my previous post.

This way, make sure to have the latest version of the stub installer.

Works only as long as Studio continues to exist. Handy but I would still save a copy to my own cloud and drive just in case.

Book marked, and the install files are in a folder within onedrive as well, plenty of bases covered

I have purchased it anyway Yann and hope that I can adapt to it.

 They don't work like that. I have several machines using various Studio versions and none of those computers are connected to the internet and they run Studio just fine.
