output for a video shot on iphone in portrait mode

Having problems outputting this after adding titles to it. Keeps making the video wider. What setting should I use to keep it the same size. I don't mind black on the edges but don't want it to distort.

     Thanks,

What version of Studio are you using ?

Only PS24 has a portrait export mode.

Only PS24 has a portrait export mode.

Although Studio 24 is the first version that can export in portrait mode, earlier versions should be able to edit portrait video clips on a regular (landscape) timeline and export that video "pillarboxed" with black bars either side without distorting the proportions of the video.

I tried using PS23 and a 9:16 portrait video clip shot on an Android tablet; the portrait video was recognised as such when imported, but when added to a new project the automatic choice of the project timeline settings by the first clip added was fooled - and it was set as one of the "square video" formats! After manually correcting the timeline settings (for my test putting it back to HD 1920x1080) editing and export was successful with no distortion of the portrait video clip when a title overlay was added.

So if in Studio's control panel ("project settings" page) you do have Studio's installation-default of automatically setting the project format from the firat clip added, check that the timeline settings are actually what you are expecting.
