    Curtain 2 Transition

I am using the curtain 2 transition in Pinnacle Studio 24 Ultimate.  At the beginning of the movie, I have the curtain raise, which is its normal transition.  Is there a way to reverse that effect at the end of the movie and have the curtain drop/close?  I have already gone into the edit of the transition and clicked on the option to reverse but that did not work.

    Re: Curtain 2 Transition

I would make a new project, copy the clip into the new project from the main project, apply it to the ending clip with the clip reversed, export it, then load the exported clip into your main project.

    Re: Curtain 2 Transition

Of course reverse the clip once imported into your main project.

    Re: Curtain 2 Transition

What do you mean by new project?  I think of a new movie project when I read that.

    Re: Curtain 2 Transition

Correct.   Copy the ending clip from your main project into a new movie project.   Reverse it, add your effect, export it, load the exported clip into your main project, reverse it, and it should be what you are looking for.

The tool used to bend the curtain is Morphing form. When the curtain is closed and then reopen, Morphing form goes from 0 to 100 with 2 keyframes.

To reverse the effect, appply Morphing form to objects Curtain left and Curtain right ans set two keyframes : one at the beginning, value 100 + one at 33%, value zero.

    Re: Curtain 2 Transition

Those instructions (and the Youtube video) were based on the Curtain 3 transition; the OP was using Curtain 2...

However, the same principle can be used to "reverse" that one so that the curtain falls instead of rising.

    1. With Studio's transition editor open, click "Edit" to open the HFX editor
    2. In the HFX Editor move the scrubber under the prview area to the beginning of the transition
    3. Click on the branch "Curtain Vertical Pull"; change the value of "Morph Shape" from 0 to 100
    4. Drag the scrubber unde the preview area to the end of the transition; change the value of Morph Shape from 100 to 0

The curtain should now fall instead of rise. However which video source is on the curtain as it lowers, and which is the one being covered up may look silly, so these may need to be swapped...

    1. In the branch "Back 2" there is an item "Host Video 2" - click on it and in the "Media" panel at the top click on the "1" icon to select the source as host video 1 (i.e. the one before the transition) instead
    2. In the branch "Curtain Vertical Pull" there is an item "Host Video 1" - click on it and in the "Media" panel at the top click on the "2" icon to select the source as host video 2 (i.e. the one after the transition) instead

Click "OK" at the bottom-right to save the changes and close the HFX editor

Thanks for your help.  I will have to take time and figure this out.  Sounds complicated but will look at it.
