I am attempting to process my fist football match using PS24 but when attempting to output to a DVD the output is extremely slow. It is going to take several hours to complete a football match. My settings are no different from those I use for PS23 yet the speed is so different. I am going to have to revert to PS23 as I cannot wait for a DVD to take so long to output.

Rendering the image, or burning the DVD? 

I was using PS24 the other day to open an old project with 640x480 clips from a DC20 capture card.  It opened, but when I exported, the mpg(DVD) export was extremely slow.  I have an i9-9900k with no video card and the GPU was at 100% in task mgr, but it was only rendering about 1 frame per second.  I thought is was the source, because I tried exporting it at 1080p and it was no faster.

What is your source? 

This was burning the DVD. Impossible to use it with it being thatslow. I have loaded the project into PS23 and it outputs quicker in there.

 

Peformance problem observed here too - just creating a disc project from the sample movie project, adding a simple main & sub menu pair, then exporting as a DVD image.

Issue seems to be extremely slow rendering coupled with extremely high GPU usage during export of any parts involving titles (IMO GPU usage is excessively high considering the (lack of) complexity of what was actually being exported):

• Exporting the disc menus
• Exporting any parts of the movie containing full-screen or overlay titles

Other parts of the movie (having no titles) export quickly. And, once the rendering stage is completed, creating the disc image itself is also quick.

So you are saying only the second half of making a DVD, after the image was created, just writing to the DVD burner? 

No from the outset whilst attempting to create the image. The preview window shows how slow everything is resolving. Mirroring precisely what Richard has described above.

 

Ok, that makes more sense

seems to PS 24 is slower then earlier version. 

It is so slow as to be unusable. If it has not already been notified to Corel, perhaps Yann would be kind enough to bring it to their attention.

It's like the old days.  It took my machine about an hour and 45 minutes to export a 17 minute 640x480 project.

But, it exported fine. 

imagine exporting 45 minutes in HD or 4K format, it will take days and nights ;)
