    Delete audio from video clip

I am digitizing/transferring 8mm movies into Pinnacle Studio from a 8mm projector and recording with a camcorder. The camcorder is picking up the projector sound which ends up with the video in Studio. I have selected  the option Detach Audio but after all editing is completed, the  audio plays with the  movie. There may be a way to tell the camcorder not to pick up audio?

    Thanks

Mute the audio track - the speaker icon on the track header. Or you can right click on the clip and use the Active Stream command to disable the audio. Or you can open the audio mixer and drag the track or master volume down to zero. Or detach the audio and then delete the audio only.

You don't say what flavour of PS you have. Some of these options may not be avaialble in the Standard version, but as you can see, there are quite a few ways to exclude the audio from the edit - I've probably missed a few ;-)
