PSU23 Export to Blu-Ray DVD Issue

Upgraded from PSU20 to PSU23 in March 2020. Just attempted to burn a disc and received this message: "The disc export has experienced an internal error (0x81310010)." The disc appears okay (maybe some minor audio issues, but certainly playable). Repeated the burn with the same movie, same settings...same result! Same error message, I'm guessing it will also play.

    Any ideas?

At what point in the process do you get the error message?

at the very end of the process...I should have noted the % completion, but...next time...but after the image has been created, as the actual disc burn is very close to completion

...and yet the disc is playable?

Do you get a message that the burn is complete, of is this where it stops?

Have you tried it as a two part process, create the image and then burn the disc from the image? Do you have a BD-RE disc to experiment with?

the disc is playable...no message that the burn was complete, just the error message...I did use a two-part process, created the image then burned the disc...I did NOT try to burn directly before creating he image...I do not have a BD-RE disc readily available

So if the disc is playable and you want to trouble shoot the issue how many more discs do you want to waste?

I would try burning the image with ImgBurn and see what happens.

Have you checked if there is a firmware update for your burner?

If the discs are cheap that could be the cause of the problem. There is a huge difference between the top level branded discs and cheap generic ones.

That's a dated link, but still as relevance. Now the demand has fallen there are less fakes around, but lots of big companies have left the market as well.

In the days of DVD I wasted hours with spindles of cheap discs that threw up dozens of ramdom errors. These almost completly stopped when I started using JVC, TY or Vebatium discs. Blu-ray is even more critical. Even with a spindlof 50 that seems OK, at one point, about 30 discs in they just stopped working, then the last 5 went back to normal.

Re: PSU23 Export to Blu-Ray DVD Issue

You know, I suspected cheap discs might be an issue, and they yet may be...but, not so far. But I take your point. I had been using  JVC and just tried a spindle of the cheap ones...I'll probably go back to the "real" ones now.

BUT...ImgBurn worked like a charm...and much more quickly than PS would have, so I suspect that going forward I'll use that (and the better discs).

While I have your attention jj, I'll ask you the same question I'm going to post on the FB sites. After 7 years I'm finally going to bite the bullet and upgrade my desktop...I thought maybe I could get away with $600 or so, but a couple of guys on the PS Editors FB site thought I'd need to spend closer to $1500. After a little bit, I thought I might spend the extra (have to sweet talk my lovely wife!). I have a usable monitor, and external 2 TB HDD. I'd reuse these...but then?

Any suggestions/ideas would be most appreciated.

Thanks again for the ImgBurn suggestion.

I've seen those John, and to be honest, I don't have much to add. Firstly, the prices you pay in the US are so different from here that I don't hava a reference, and secondly, my current desktop is about five years old and still hacks it. Buy the fastest CPU, MB and case you can afford (I've got a silent PC with not fan) and you should be able to add all the other stuff as you go. I've upgraded to 32GB RAM, m.2 1TB SSD, and GTX 1070 over the years.
