Hi All, I'm a new user with a new-user question. I've been using Pinnacle Studio Ultimate V23.2.1.297 (64 bit) paid-for version for a couple of days and this has me stumped. When I play back a clip in the editor there is no sound at all, although my computer sound works. I get sound with the same clips in MultiCam Editor, and with VLC or when any other player plays the clips. I have tried .mp4 and .mov files and neither gives sound in the editor. I've attached a screen shot so you can see my settings.
The master VU meter at the bottom of the Edit screen shows sound, the Channel Mixer editor shows sound, the audio mixer seems to be un-muted, the system volume mixer is not muted, where else could there be something blocking the sound? I also tried setting the default Windows output device to headphones and again, every player has sound output except the Pinnacle editor. I also tried a software repair which made no difference. The default sample movie video that comes with the software also does not produce sound.
Most of the other forum posts I saw seemed to have issues with a specific effect or codec, but these are pretty standard video files and no plug-ins are added. The user's manual also didn't seem to cover the issue. I am using an Acer E-15 laptop with Realtek audio (that otherwise works fine), have 16GB or RAM, a 1TB SSD with 45% free, and an Intel i5-6200U processor. I've had a few crashes but things have generally been working fine except for no audio output in the Editor.
It is likely something obvious, so any insight would be truly appreciated as I otherwise like working with the editor and MultiCam. Thanks in advance!
