    Importing .mov Files

I have some .mov files with transparency but PS 23U shows a message saying that it needs the QuickTime Player to import them. Confusing because it does accept certain other .mov files. However, I installed the K-Lite Standard pack and hoped that would contain the right codec but I still get the message. Is there another way to import these .mov files?

Install Quick Time, not Quick Time player : https://support.apple.com/kb/DL837?viewlocale=en_GB&locale=en_GB

Thanks for the quick reply, saby. I wish I wouldn't have to install QuickTime because I've bad experiences with the intrusive ways of this app. Is there no other way?

And why is it that some .mov files are not causing any problems upon import?

Mov, like many other media file formats, is a container and there can be many different compression algorithms used inside. It so happens that QuickTime goes in .mov files but so do other types of video and audio. So if you really have the QuickTime codec you'll need to install that.

Thanks. What about converting the .mov files? Which format would keep the transparency?

    No.

    None that Studio could handle.

Too bad. Thanks for clearing that up.
