    Odd behaviour with mp4 files

    I am using mp4 files from my 4k camcorder, AVC1 codec, 16 bit colour depth, 3840x2160 @25fps

I have placed the videos and edited in PS22 ultimate, now when I am trying to export to file I am getting a grey background with the round arrow showing for 1 frame at the end of each video clip so when one clip finishes there is flash of the mentioned arrow before the next clip.

If I play back from the timeline there is no reference to this in the preview window, zooming in to the timeline there is no sign of a gap or other problem at the join point transition or not. One thing I have noticed is that the scrubber red line can on occasion turn grey itself for perhaps one frame, why would it do this?

I have with some success, removed the last frame of these problem areas and it has stopped the grey background arrow, but this short video is now getting worse.

I have tried exporting with different file types eg mts mpeg2 etc all at 1080 again with various options it 1080 p or i 24fps or 25 fps (as the 4k is native frame rate.

Any help would be appreciated as the project may have to be started again by the looks of things

    16 bits ? Really ?

Studio is not supposed at all to be able to edit such a color depth.

Instead, would you give a shot of Mediainfo to it ?

Yes. It's a "classic" 8 bits color depth file. You may try another export but using another hardware acceleration setting in Control panel.

    Saby

I transferred the project to PS23 and the problem went away, so I have no idea what has caused the issue. If when I have completed the whole project and I have time I might try again in PS22 to see what happens. Thanks for your help
