Hi guys
I've captured a video of a game emulator playing a game using windows 10 game bar capture.
The file captured by Microsoft's own screen capture utility is in MP4 format. It is about 1 hour 15 mins long and plays fine in Microsoft media player and also VLC media player. Only problem is that Pinnacle Studio 15 doesn't play it correctly in the video editor. The video itself is too fast ( possibly three times the speed it should be ) and the sound lags the video. The sound is played at the correct speed. Due to this problem I am unable to edit the video. I've tried using slow motion ( by adding a speed effect ) on the the video but still can't get an exact match with the audio due to sync problems.
I've also tried downloading the free trial of the latest version of studio only to encounter the same problem. Windows's 10 own Movie Maker sees the mp4 file correctly and plays it back at the correct speed. I've tried the MP4 video file on a Linux system and VLC on Linux also plays it back correctly.
I'm guessing this problem is unique to Pinnacle Studio and there is an issue of the video/audio format created by Microsoft Game Bar capture. The game I captured was running on a commodore 64 emulator - the video created plays ok in Windows Media player. Anybody have any idea how I get round this?
I tried converting the MP4 file to AVi in tyhe hope that would fix the problem. I had the same issues ( Video too fast and Audio lagging ) with the AVi file as well.
