Hi All

After using Pinnacle 12 and then Pinnacle 17 for many years and having just purchased a 4k camcorder I decided it was time to upgrade to Pinnacle 23.

I purchased P23 Ultimate direct from  pinnacle_estore.en.cs@digitalriver.com and at the time of ordering (16/11/20) it came with a free Blu Ray Plug. I ordered P23 as a disc for delivery rather than digital download. As it was a Christmas present from my wife I didn't load the P23 software onto my PC till 26th December and it's only this weekend that I have actually had time to start to have a play with it.  

Forgive me if I've got this wrong but when looking at the export page it seems you can no longer burn a disc from Export (like in 17) and you have to use Pinnacle My DVD, is this correct?   If so I want to burn a Blu Ray but when I open My DVD,  the Blu Ray option is greyed out (DVD and AVCHD OK).  I can also see that you can export to My DVD from the edit page which when similarly when I select Blu Ray brings up a  window saying I need to purchase the Blu Ray Plug In. Also when looking through the main P23 menus I noticed the ?Help menu gives me an option to purchase Blu Ray.

All this is strange as I thought the plug in it came with my purchase. When I look back to my original order confirmation mail there is a link on the invoice which says Begin Download of the  Blu Ray plug in. I did this at the time of purchase and can see the PinnacleStudio_Blu_Ray.exe in my PC folder and when I double click it it says Pinnacle Studios Blu Ray Authoring is now enabled.

 Just in case there was a problem with the plug in I tried to re-download it from my invoice link but now get the message....

i am experiencing the exact same problem. The Blu-Ray DVD plugin was part of the package when I purchased Pinnacle studio 23 Ultimate.  I Installed it but I am still getting the purchase window when i try to burn a Blu-Ray DVD. I opened a ticket with Corel 6 days ago and I am still waiting for an answer on how to resolve this problem. Very frustrating.

Similar problem, although I purchased it through the app (23), and no matter how many times I follow the instructions, and it tells me it's activated (and I restart the app and the PC), BluRay authoring is still "locked".  I have also tried the "restore purchases".  It finds and supposedly restores the purchase, but the same thing happens.

 

How do I fix?

The exe-file “PinnacleStudio24_Blu_ray”   was included free with my purchase of the pack of PinnacleStudio 24 Ultimate and  was included in my internet download from Corel.  But it doesn’t work as promised by Corel.

How to fix ?

It's the right size.

Try uninstalling Studio 24 and then installing Studio 24 again.

Corel Technical Support has now mailed me a new exe-file, IPP4BD, designed for my license key and it worked fine.  I can now burn Blu-Ray with my Pinnacle Studio 24. The new size is 644 kB.

I sent a support ticket to Corel on this issue and their response was to use the "restore purchase" function.   This did absolutely nothing, and in fact said there were no purchases associated with my email address which is a lie!!!  

It's not a lie because you did not purchase in-app anything. The Blu-ray plugin came as a freebie of your Pinnace Studio purchase. The Restore purchase only restores what you buy in-app.

 

I informed Corel in my support ticket that I had purchased Studio 24 with the FREE Blu-ray plugin option included and that that download file they provided me did not unlock the Blu-ray plugin.   Their response to me was to use the "restore purchase" feature, which obviously based on your reply is the incorrect action to resolve my issue.

I'm still waiting on Corel technical support to respond to me with the correct solution.

I just joined here.

I'm on the same boat here. Bought Studio24 Ultimate, with free bluray plugin. Purchased the physical copy of Studio24, and downloaded the freebies.

Ran the  "PinnacleStudio24_Blu_Ray.exe", a window pops up saying "Pinnacle Studio Blu-ray Authoring is now enabled".

When I do Export to MyDVD (only option I can do to author?), an Export pop-up window comes up saying "You need to purchase the Blu-ray plugin to export to Blu-ray".

Appreciate feedback from Corel/Studio or anybody who got this same issue fixed.

No, it's not the only option.

Open Setup menu of PS24. In the Legacy options table enable Legacy Authoring tool. Then, you'll be able to author and export physical disks directly with PS24, and hopefully Blu-ray disks.

I did what you said, so now I have the "Author" button up top.

Unfortunately, that was the only change that happened. When I went to Export, it still tells me that I need to purchase the Blu-ray option.

Next step : open a ticket at Corel Support and request an updated version of the BR unlocking file.
