    Audio sync

I'm having real trouble at the moment - I recorded a concert from a local group that I am putting on to DVD for them.  The orginal .mts file from the camera plays OK but when I render to DVD the audio is completely out of sync.   I tried taking a small part of it and rendering to a DVD compatible MP2 and still get the same sync problem.

Any ideas how I can resolve this?

What if you create a Mpeg2 file instead ? Still out of sync ?

    Re: Re:Audio sync

Yes - Mpeg 2 still out of sync.

I'm never quite sure what should go in the Advanced section (Smart/Always re-encode entire movie/Preprocessing).

I've successfully created similar DVDs before but not yet with v23

    Re: Audio sync

This is a bug with PS23 and pinnacle/corel is working on a fix in the next patch (23.2).

Thanks for that R_Vera - how do you know that?  Is there somewhere we can look to find known bugs?

Maybe moderators have an inside track on what might be coming down the road? If they do, they can't reveal anything because they are suppose to be under a NDA, Non Disclosure Agreement.

But like inquisitive minds, I too would like to know....

    I'm not aware of it.

    Re: Audio sync

Ok, I've got some explanations : the bug acknowledged by Corel depends on a very specific type of input file (video and audio with different framerates).

There is not a general MPEG2 export issue in PS23.

    Re: Audio sync

I've managed to successfully create a DVD in PS22 now so will stick with that for now - will do some xperimenting with PS23

    Re: Audio sync

Is there a way I can provide my sample footage that does not export correctly to mpeg2 - to help with any bug tracking?

    Re: Audio sync

Upload it in a file sharing website or cloud system and share the link to download it.

Someone else had this problem and they said they converted the video into ".m4v" by using a third party program and audio was synced.

    Re: Audio sync

Studio Ultimate 23 seems to have a sound sync issue when importing AVI Videos with a Variable Bitrate Audio track.  As a work around, I used Avidemux to convert the VBR track to a constant bit rate. By converting just the audio track, the video track doesn't suffer any of the potential degradation that creeps in when changing container types.
