how to Use the second audio source from the same video??

    Hello,
I record my games. MY video has 2 audio sources. One is the sound of the game, and the other is the sound of my mic.
Pinnacle chose the first audio source which is for the game. How can I chose and extract the second audio which is my mic?

Hi and welcome to this forum.

Pinnacle Studio can't handle multi audio tracks video files. It "sees" only one track.

Re: Re:how to Use the second audio source from the same video??

I do NOT think this is true. While I was using pinnacle 19 or 20, i really don't remember the version, I used to detach audio, then double click on it, then on the left top corner it will show me track 1, and track 2. I was able to choose whatever I want.

I tend to think that  if the previous versions had this feature, then the newest version must have it.

    Thanks for the help anyway.

Don't get me wrong. You can add as many audio tracks as you want in Pinnacle Studio.

But I repeat, it cannot handle several audio tracks inside a single file. Neither recent versions nor older versions. Trust me.

Re: Re:how to Use the second audio source from the same video??

What you show are not audio tracks but right and left channels of a stereoscopic single audio track.

Double click an audio clip in PS23 and you get the same window.

what i showed you in video was 2 completely different tracks. But it is clearly you do NOT know what you are talking about.
    nevermind, I will contact support.

I think I know what is happening here. You used to double click to open up the effects editor. Now you have to use the In-built effects editor and switch it to audio, then select Channel Mixer.

I would certainly NOT recommend saying "clearly you do NOT know what you are talking about" to Saby. He is one of the most respected Moderators, and he has helped me on several occasions. I can assure you that he DOES know what he is talking about.

Not if you double-click an audio clip, whether it's a "real" audio clip or the audio detached from a video clip. In this case, audio editor opens up and Channel mixer is directly selectesd.

You can then "play" with right an left channels if audio is stereo, but you cannot play with audio tracks if the file was a multi audio tracks file. Studio can't handle multi-tracks audio

Not by default here. I just opened up the BMX Ya-Ha music and it opened up in audio corrections. When I tested this earlier on some detached audio it opened in Audio Effects. Perhaps this depends on what you last used in the In-built editor or perhaps it's bugged. So the OP might have to select Channel Mixer.

That's not to say he should be so arrogant, though ;-)

Re: Re:how to Use the second audio source from the same video??

    Weird.

I "hard" reseted Studio. Double-click is still directly opening the Channel Mixer on my system.

    You're working with 23.1.1.242 ?

    Yes

It looks to me like the In-built Editor actually remembers the last tab you used for a particular asset, so it if the OP had been poking around randomly, he might well not have got to Channel mixer by default. He would get the Audio tab of the In-built editor but might need to select Channel Mixer.

It's impossible to make a foolproof system because fools are so ingenuous.

Re: Re:how to Use the second audio source from the same video??

This would require to store the "last used tab" info somewhere else than C:\Users\Yourusername\AppData\Local\Pinnacle_Studio_23\Studio (I actually deleted it for my "hard" reset).

    I have some doubts.

Re: Re:how to Use the second audio source from the same video??

I just played around with this. If I double click on an audio track it opens in the channel mixer; if I switch it to the Effect tab and re-open it for the same track it goes to the Effect tab. But if I open a different audio track it starts in the channel mixer.

I didn't play with it more to see if that stayed with the project or not.

Not at all. I trust you.

I was talking about the hypothetical data to store the info of the tab that must be opened depending on the asset that is double-clicked.

"Every time you double click on an audio clip on the timeline it opens the channel mixer".

    True or false?

Re: Re:how to Use the second audio source from the same video??

You were actually right. Double-click an audio clip for the very 1st time always open channel mixer. If I switch to another tab, the next time I double-click this clip, it's the last tab displayed that opens up.

This info is lost if I close/reopen the project and/or if I shut down/restart Studio.
