Re: How to add support for FPS1 codec?
Sorry, I don't believe support for PS20 is on going. It's 3 years old. But I don't even think PS23 supports that codec. If you look at Pinnacle's website, there is no support. Import Formats
- Video: AVCHD2, DV, HDV, AVI, MPEG-1/-2/-4, Flash, 3GP (MPEG-4, H.263), WMV, Non-encrypted DVD titles (incl. DVD-VR/+VR), MOV (DV, MPEG-4, H.264), HEVC1 (H.265), XAVC, MXF, DVCPRO HD, XAVC S, GoPro LRV, Cineform
- Audio: MP3, MPA, M4A, WAV, AMR, AC32, AAC, Vorbis, WMA
- Graphic: JPS, BMP, GIF, JPG, PCX, PSD, TGA, TIF, WMF, PNG, J2K
Export Formats
- Disc: DVD, AVCHD, Blu-ray ($)
- Video: DV, HDV, AVI, WMV, MPEG-1/-2/-4, Flash, 3GP, HEVC (H.265, H.264), XAVC S, MOV, M2TS, FLV, 3GP, GIF, Cineform
- Image: BMP, JPEG, TIF, TGA
- Audio: AC32, MP2, MP3, MP4, WAV
My suggestion to you is to convert your files with HANDBRAKE which is free.

giannis196:You can't. giannis196: I need these videos so, you need to do something to support FPS1 codec.
Can you make a plugin or update so we can use avi with FPS1 codec?

Re: Re:How to add support for FPS1 codec?
I contacted Fraps support and they told me the codec FPS1 is on my system since Fraps is installed, the pinnacle is just not using that codec from my system so it's pinnacle thing.
I think pinnacle should investigate that and get all the codecs that are installed on user's system working.

Re: Re:How to add support for FPS1 codec?
good luck with that one. How many other people in the forum have complained about fraps not working properly? Maybe Fraps should change their codec to something that everyone else uses instead of the world having to change for it. Relive and Plays.tv work great with Pinnacle.

That's the best way to get a messy application. Pinnacle Studio is using its own versions of the decoders, not the ones present in Windows. This way they avoid having to rely on external filters in order to avoid bugs and unexpected behaviors. And they make sure that Studio is using legit codecs for which Corel has paid royalties if royalties need to be paid.

How about giving up a 27 years old container too (AVI) and adopt a more modern format ?
