    Import to Studio 22 issues

When I try to import to Studio 22 from my Sony HDR CX-160 AVCHD camcorder, it will not find the files from the camcorder.  I hook up the camcorder to the computer via USB and click on Import in Studio 22.  Then I click on the USB drive that the camcorder is hooked up to.  It says there are no files on this drive.  Am I missing something?  I even used the search tool to search for the device, but it didn't find it.  I imported the video files from the camcorder to my computer using the SD card.  It put them in as .mts files.  But when I try to import those to Studio 22, it doesn't find those either from the video folder.  Any help is appreciated!

Does your camcorder uses an SD card. If yes then you can remove the card and insert it into your computer and copy/paste your videos into a file.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I tried that.  Put the SD card into the computer and transfered the video files into my Video folder on the computer.  They are .mts files.  But when I brought up the Import page in Studio 22, it wouldn't find those video files I had just imported onto my computer.

I am at work so won't be near my computer until late tonight.  But, what do you mean by Quick Import? I am unfamiliar with that.

Either drag'n'drop some files from Windows Explorer into the library of Studio or click this button and select files :

Re: Import to Studio 22 issues

Clicking the folder button to select the video files worked.  It imported them into the library.  Thanks for that advice!  However, shouldn't the import way work?  I paid all this money for this program, and it's not working properly. But what does work properly? Haha!

Of course the Importer should work.

Would you post a screenshot of the whole UI when it fails to see your mts files ? I suspect a bad set up.

I'm sorry it took so long for me to get back to you.  Here is a screen shot of my import screen when I try to import video from my camcorder.  I have several boxes checked, but nothing has been found by the importer.

I don't see any folders selected?

The behavior should be that you select one, it does a quick scan to see if there's anything and then makes the Scan& Import button enabled.

What happens when you select the folder?

    Forget your camcorder.

    • Insert the SD card in your compute
    • open Studio
    • open Import tab
    • select My computer tab
    • locate where the video files are located in your SD card
    • each video file should be displayed with a thumbnail

Look at what I have on my computer. The SD card path is F:\PRIVATE\AVCHD\BDMV\STREAM

When I select the D: Drive, which is my camcorder, I don't get the Scan and Import button on the left.  I can see the video files when I go to the D: Drive through Windows Explorer, but nothing when I try it through Studio 22.

Thank you, I will just have to do it that way.  Or quick import the files the way you told me before.  I really appreciate the help!

Scan For Assets can't work with removable drive. This feature is for permanent drive. Only the LInk option is available.

Use the My computer option instead.
