    Output file error 22 U

Having a problem when I output files (720 or 1080 mp4 format) about halfway through it loses the picture and displays a gray box with a circle with an arrow at the end of it. I've had to open Pinnacle 20 and output them through that program.

Anyone have this problem or know why it is happening?

    Thanks for any thought.

None... no idea. It has happened to me, but no grey circle. Just everything stops.

This was exporting @ 100MBit/s. The timeline had not fully rendered.

When I selected "Same as Timeline", export was ok. Then upped to 26MBit/s and it too exported with no problem. Then tried at 100MBit/s and it too succeeded.  I have no idea what caused the inactivity initially and was able to cancel the Export from within the software.. The CPU was being used by PS around 45% constantly with no writing to the hard drive and no further advancement of frame rendering.

What I find is that a lot of the "internals" of PS aren't 64bit, but 32bit and slows the rendering down to a crawl, even on my computer build. Like using NBFX Transitions, definitely Red Giant and the Title editor. Could that be the problem? I don't know. Just guessing.

The video was 60P game captured and is 1:24. It's my spoof trailer. If you want to watch it, here is the LINK.

The game (I beta test it and I am Reyfox_I getting revenge) is a FPS put out by the US Army and is free for PC (on Steam) and Playstation 4.

Thanks Tony. Guess I'll keep playing around with it. I'm losing faith in 22 and now doing more on 20 because it seems more stable.

    Enjoyed your video.

My issue with PS22 is the sometimes inconsistency of it. One day it won't, the next day it will. I can't pin down anything specific for creating reproduction steps.

One day, using MCE, I had no idea if the proxies were created to start the multi cam editing. In PS21, a progressive green bar appears on top of the clips as the proxies are created. Once done, smooth muliticam editing.

In PS22, I had a short music video to edit. No indication of proxy rendering. Still did the video though and tweaked it in the Editor. Next time, green progressive bars. I bang my head against the wall.

PS is still a competent editor, it's just those moments.....

I've also noticed that 22 seems to drag on my computer more than the other versions. IOW when it "renders" my computer ramps up audibly as if it is being strained - for the record it's a new computer with plenty of power. I have now stopped using 22 and editing on 21 until I can figure out what and why 22 is giving me so many problems. Maybe a future patch will help things.

"Power"? If your computer is being "pushed" by PS, that is what is suppose to happen. To use all of what your computer can give.

I have taskmanager open so I can monitor what is going on. How much CPU is being used, RAM and hard drive access. Depending on the video and what I've done to it while editing, my CPU usage will hover 90% for all 16 logical cores. That's what I want.
