    Dazzle DVC100... no video, again.

Hi everyone and thanks for checking out this thread.

I have encountered this problem before, and after several days of looking for answers, I finally fixed the issue. But, alas, it is happening again and I have forgotten what I did previously, nor can I find anything that leads towards a solution in my current searches.

SET UP: I am playing mini-dv tapes on a Sony DCR-VX2100 video camera (VCR mode) via Dazzle DVC100 (composite) to Pinnacle Studio Ultimate (any of 17, 18 or 19) - running on a windows 8, intel core i7-4790 CPU, 3.60ghz and 16gb ram.

Connections have been checked, have searched youtube (until i'm blue in the face!! LOL), have installed drivers directly from Pinnacle and tried drivers offered from one youtube video.  I also restart my computer after any driver changes.

BUT - i try to import and (usually) have audio, but the video is black.

Please, I have over 50 hours of tape to be captured this way and desperately need help to getting it going again. Any thoughts, suggestions, clarifications are indeed welcome!! When I finally fixed it before, I remember it being something quite simple.

Thanks again and in advance for your time,

    Stephen

Thank you!  (merci?) I'm checking it out now, and I appreciate the welcome as much as the speedy response. :)

I gave it a shot, but it will not install. :(

I'll try again a bit later. Thanks!

    Nothing should be installed.

Once downloaded, you get  a zip file. In this file there is a CaptureFlux_52en.exe file. Unzip it and run it. Nothing else to do.

I just finished capturing an 8mm video and using capture flux and seemed to work fine. But now when I attempt to edit it in whichever version of PS, it wont open it at all. All I get is a "?" and no video is displayed. I can watch the captured video well on WMP.

Re: Re:Dazzle DVC100... no video, again.

I don't know. I just captured it as AVI but now I have to recapture it again because no sound was captured on all video. I think the camera I used was defective. Will let you know asap when I recapture it again. Thanks.

BTW: I was capturing with the 500-USB and not the DVC100.

Re: Re:Dazzle DVC100... no video, again.

I'm having the same issue. I just bought a Dazzle DVD Recorder HD VHS to DVD Converter for PC. I can get sound but no video. In the tool you mentioned it says that there is no video stream and there is nothing in the video source dropdown.

    Any advice for me?

Sorry to hijack the thread but I'm having the same issue.

    Thanks!

Re: Re:Dazzle DVC100... no video, again.

I think my problem was the VCR I was using wasn't working - that's why I was getting no video.
