Download Patch 9.3.5 or 9.4.1, where?

    Hello

I'm trying to edit an old DV video  on an old PC using my old Studio 9.4.3 and I am experiencing the well-known crashes when rendering. It seems that it happens because of the Studio 9.4.3.70 patch and Pinnacle never published a correction.

    My questions:

    • is there a patch >9.4.3.70 which corrects the problem?
    • where can I find the older patch 9.3.5 or 9.4.1, so that I can reinstall everything from the CD and then upgrade - but not to 9.4.3?

As I have completely lost confidence in Studio, I'm not ready to invest in the newest version.

    Thanks, regards

    Patrick

Pinnacle Studio 9 up to Studio 15 are no longer supported by Pinnacle Studio or Corel. If you uninstall Studio 9.4.3 and install it back again you should get back to the older version you prevously had before the patch which I think it is 9.1 but may vary.

Bad or good, the newest version of Studio is a completely different piece of software.

Corel offers a 30 days money back guarantee. Worth giving it a try, no ?

Great, thank you. I think I will give it a try before buying Studio 20 and discovering the newest bugs & crashes...

    Hello

I solved the problem by re-encoding all DV original files (.avi) using VirtualDub and replacing the original with the new files

Studio didn't notice it (everything was still cut at the right place) and now it renders without problem.

Studio 9 is really a huge piece of scrap!

I don't agree on that. It might not be as ergonomically great as modern software, but that is not the problem and the workflow ist OK, even to today's standards.

In my opinion it is scrap because it crashes all the time. It is scrap because it is the only software from that time which crashes because of errors in the AVI files - errors which it caused itself because of a bug which was brought in by a patch and never corrected.

Anyways, fortunately the solution described above works.

As long as I can remember I have used Pinnacle Studio 9 Plus (9.3.0) several times without any patches and it worked great on me without any problems at all. I sometimes use it whenever I need to use an effect not available in other Pinnacle Studio programs. I am using it with Windows XP.

What OS are you using it with? XP, Vista, W7, W8.1 or W10

It's a dinosaure because it is no longer in phase with modern hardware, modern codecs and modern video formats. It"s a dinosaure because its code is out of date.
