Sony TD30: .MTS file is not recognized as 3D.
Studio Version 17.1.0.182 Windows 7 Camera Sony HDR-TD30.
Studio thinks it is a 2D video, while there are clearly TWO video streams inside this MTS file. Stereoscopic Player has no problem detecting and playing this! I cannot use Pinnacle Studio now at all. Please fix this urgently.

This has been an ongoing problem for a while now. With each patch release I check to see if the problem has been fixed and each time I am disappointed. evangary

Re: Sony TD30: .MTS file is not recognized as 3D.
I downloaded and installed the latest patch, and I still have no options anywhere to show 3D stereoscopic or any indication it knows they are 3D video streams.
How did you confirm it works? Thanks, Bart

Re: Sony TD30: .MTS file is not recognized as 3D.
When you import the 3D media, you should see a 3D indicator atop each clip. See attached screenshot. In SETUP > CONTROL PANEL > PREVIEW, set Default 3D viewing mode to Side by Side Click the 3D viewing mode button (see screenshot) and make sure it is set to Side by Side (default). Mine was acting strangely so I went to the folder where the 3D clips were and deleted any files that were not actual clips and restarted Pinnacle Studio, reimported the clips and then all was working as it should. evangary

This is STILL not working with the latest patch. It does not recognize the .MTS file from the SONY TD30 is a 3D file. Screenshot attached. I really need this to work... a new Patch would be much appreciated. I am happy to upload a sample MTS file for testing. Bart

Ok. I downloaded the file and imported it into Studio 17. It was recognized as 3D immediately. See attached screen shot. evangary

Re: Sony TD30: .MTS file is not recognized as 3D.
Well, it does not do it here. I checked: I installed the patch 17.3.0 and the About box reports version 17.3.0.280 Is there a hidden setting somewhere which causes this issue? Is there some 3th party driver/software which must be installed to make this work? The program Stereoscopic Player plays it perfectly in 3D.
Thanks, Bart

Re: Sony TD30: .MTS file is not recognized as 3D.
I have now updated to Patch 17.4. I also have cleared out the directories, deleted al Collections, and re-imported the test file. It makes no difference. Note that there is NO "Stereoscopic" reference at all in the 'Information' screen. I noticed the screenshot of a German user which said "Stereoscopic: NO". I do NOT even have that. I really get the feeling that the Patch 17.3 I did, after initial installation, may not have all files (DLL's) of previous Patches in it. So I am still missing updated files. Patch 17.4 has not fixed this issue. Are the developers reading the forums? Bart

AW: Re: Sony TD30: .MTS file is not recognized as 3D.
BartKindt: I do NOT even have that.
Have you ever noticed that you can resize the information window by dragging e.g. the lower right corner?

Yes, but this does not add the 'missing' Stereoscopic entry.

Re: AW: Re: Sony TD30: .MTS file is not recognized as 3D.
Thanks to Jacques72, our 3D specialist, here is the solution : - double-click your clip (from Library or from Timeline) to open Adjustments pannel
- set Stereoscopic 3D to 3D Top and Bottom 100 %

Re: AW: Re: Sony TD30: .MTS file is not recognized as 3D.
Re the Adjustments: There is no 3D option in there, because it does not think it is a 3D file. Re the Version: I have no idea what version I have, I can't remember what I purchased, and I do not see any references anywhere regarding Standard, Plus or whatever. The About box just says version 17.4.309. Where can I check this? Thanks, Bart

So, you have the Standard flavor. No 3D in it. Sorry.

Re: AW: Re: AW: Re: Sony TD30: .MTS file is not recognized as 3D.
My splash screen simply says "Studio 17".... So I assume this must be the Standard version.. Bugger, all this hassle just because it is not the right version! I will see what it costs to upgrade.
Thanks everybody for the help, Bart
