I am trying to edit video of bbc program (olympics) copied from my dvd recorder hard disc to dvds. The dvds play ok on the video recorder and are in wide screen. However when i import them into to Pinnacle Studio 14 they appear in narrow - I think 4X3 - format with everyone squashed up.. I have set project preferences to PAL widescreen but this does not seem to make any difference. How can I capture from the dvd in widescreen?

Try clicking (right click) on the thumbnail on the video before placing it on the timeline and select the proper screen size. Then you can place the video in the timeline.
