    3D AVCHD Disks

I'm trying to create an 3D AVCHD disk and each time I select AVCHD from the "Type" dropdown of the "Export" tab I get the error "Parameter set is invalid. Default parameters will be set." Can anyone help with this? If I can't get past this Pinnacle Studios is useless to me. Also, does anyone know why Pinnacle limits you to half resolution (SBS, Top/Bot) when creating a 3D disk instead of allowing Multi-Stream? Thanks.

    Re: 3D AVCHD Disks

Do you know whether or not the AVCHD disc format supports 3D video?

    Re: 3D AVCHD Disks

    Hello
GOOGLE translation Escusez me, I'm French

ST16 supports 3D AVCHD2 export to SD card (for my Panasonic DMP-BDT220 platinum without menus but with chapters)

I tried to copy the contents of the SD card and make an image file of the disk with Imgburn but it does not work with blu ray.

After mounting and corrected your 3D movie, you can export to Blu-ray H264 Side by Syde 50% with 3D menus.

    But if a simpler solution:

    You PMB or update PMH

This software comes with TD10 and TD20 camcorders Sony 3D.

    - If you export with Pinnacle Studio 16 mode select Export

AVCHD (HDD) 1920x1080 24000 Kbps Multistreaming (40000Kbits is not read by the plates Blu ray)

Disk obtained with TDC or BDC supports 3D and 2D is read by most decks but has no menu.

    Re: 3D AVCHD Disks

Yes, here is a quote from the Pinnacle 16 Manual "If your project is in stereoscopic 3D, you can easily create 3D discs in DVD, AVCHD and AVCHD 2.0 formats." The example image even shows AVCHD being selected along with "Side-by-side" 3D.

    Re: 3D AVCHD Disks

My problem is I don't have a BluRay burner so I typically burn AVCHD disks for my HD work. I've been doing this with Pinnacle for a few years now. I just bought version 16 and it claims it can do it with 3D, but won't let ME do it. Do I need to somehow reactivate AVCHD? Is there a pinnacle activation code for that?

    Re: 3D AVCHD Disks

I tried to create an AVCHD2 DVD disk, but was only able to select a card reader/writer as my device, and NOT a DVD burner.  So you are not alone.  Maybe this is all by design and the documentation is in error.

Hmmm .  . . . . I seem to be able to set up an AVCHD disc to burn with 3D settings.   TraceDave, can you give us a screen shot of your export settings.

    Re: 3D AVCHD Disks

AVCHD 3D with multistream video (H264/MVC with 1920x1080 or 1440x1080) is part of the AVCHD 2 specification.

That specification does not allow AVCHD 3D content to be written on a DVD. The reason is that the bitrate would be too high. That is why only card devices are listed as possible destination devices.

If your AVCHD 2 player can handle playback of DVDs fast enough, you could try a workaround to create an AVCHD 2 disc:

    1)      Create an AVCHD 2 image

    2)      Select disc type AVCHD and use “Burn image” to create a DVD

You could also use an external tool to burn the image (I would recommend ImgBurn).

Greg, The screenshot below (hopefully) show my default setting when I click on export. When I select AVCHD from the type dropdown I get what I'll show in the next post (I'm trying to figure out the file attachment mechanics for this forum).

Here is a what I get when I select AVCHD from the type drop-down. I've tried a variety of settings, including changing my audio to 2-channel PCM. Nothing seems to work.

More info. I just created a new movie with a 2D clip and Pinnacle STILL would not let me select AVCHD (same results as above).

    Re: 3D AVCHD Disks

Delete the file settings.xml in the folder C:\Users\your user name\AppData\Local\Pinnacle\Studio\16.0\Settings

AppData is a hidden folder, you must set windows explorer to show hidden files and folders

After the deletion of settings.xml you have to set you preferences for studio again, but now it should be possible to select BD or AVCHD disc

    Why?

For two videos, the choice should be "Top Line First"

Ingolf, deleting the settings file worked. I can now burn AVCHD disks. Any idea why this was the case? Thanks everyone for your help.

Hopefully there is a solution out there for burning AVCHD2. My camera produces multistream @ 1080 and I hate losing half my resolution by rendering SBS.

     Hello

The simplest solution, if you have a camcorder or Sony TD10 TD20 is to use PMB to burn blu ray in multistream and without quality loss.

    Unfortunately no menu.

I explained above procedure and it works very well.

It is also a very quick and export of high quality because the files are not recompiled.
