Capturing a frame from Pinnacle as a JPEG and using it as a photo which can be used by other apps

    Hi,

Does anyone know if you can capture a frame from a movie within Pinnacle and then use it as a photo?  When you try to capture a frame using the power/home combination keys it takes a picture of the screen which includes all of the other Pinnacle windows.  So is there possibly a way to show just the video frame and then use the power/home key combination to take a picture? Or is there an another way?

Maybe someone knows of a different app that can do this?

    Thank you

    Jane

    Hi Jane,

The Pinnacle Studio app doesn't currently have a "snapshot" option, but we will consider adding that in a future version.

In the meantime I would suggest using the diagonal arrow over the preview window to switch the app to Full Screen preview for the video either from the Library or the Timeline view. You can then scrub the video to the frame you want and use the power+home combination to take a screenshot. Afterwards you can find the resulting picture using the Photos app., open it from the Camera Roll and with the Edit options use the crop tool to trim down to just the photo you want from the movie.

Output/Render the video from PS and power/home at the appropriate point in the final video. Go back to PS and rebuild the library and use the full frame photo in your project.
