    Voice Over

This has only happened recently. It has worked fine before.

When I add a voice over track it does not line up precisely with the footage that it is applied to. There is a distinct lag. Has anyone else encountered this and if so is there a way of rectifying it?

    Re: Voice Over

Highlight the voice over track, and when you see the little hand, left click on it and move the track to where you want it to be.

Yes, I know I can move it myself, but it should appear in the correct position in the first place. I don't want to have to line it up every time.

any hardware or software changes that might cause the error, perhaps a change in MIC.

    Moved to Studio Edit.

No, I am using precisely the same gear. I have noticed something though which is happening now which never used to occur.

When attempting to record the voice over, the countdown from three begins and the picture used to commence moving immediately once the countdown had ended. There is now  around a three second delay before it starts. It makes no difference to the allignment of the voice over whether I wait for the pictues to begin or not.

    Re: Voice Over

I have since discovered that the problem is not program-related but an OPS issue. Occasionally, I am now getting a window popping up briefly which aludes to 'Synchronization Application'. It does not stay up long enough to get any more than that, but is one of the usually windows error boxes that invites one to send Microsoft an error report.

Does anyone know enough about the operating system to tell me how to fix this?

EDIT The sound has now become intermittent and breaks up. I then quit the program and go back in again, reload the project and everything works fine again.

Usually these errors are logs in the event viewer, open up event viewer and tell us more regarding the error logs.
