Dolby 2CH Encoding/Decoding message

    Dolby 2CH Encoding/Decoding message

    This problem seems to have been reported many times on this forum, but the solution is not clear.  I have purchased and downloaded Pinnacle Studio 15 (HD Ultimate), running on Windows Vista.  Each time I open the application and import a piece of video I recieve the message "You can activate Dolby 2CH Encoding/Decoding for Studio 15 instantly by purchasing an Actiation key".  I select the Activate Now button and within the CODECs list are four activation keys (AMR, Dolby digital 5.1, MP3, MPEG-4), I copy the activation key into Pinnacle (Help, Enter Activation Keys) and all is well.  The next time I use Pinnacle I have to go through the same routine all over again.

    Clearly something has not been activated correctly or it is not recording the keys.  How do I get rid of this problem permantly?

    I have purchased Pinnacle Studio 14 HD, running on Windows 7. Each time I open the application and import a piece of video I recieve the message "You can activate Dolby 2CH Encoding/Decoding for Studio 14 instantly by purchasing an Actiation key". I select the Activate Now button and within the CODECs list is only one activation key (AMR). I cannot use the program because I don't know what to do, how to get the activation key. How do I solve this problem? Regards Henrik

    I am also having this exact error.  Where can I go to regenerate the Dolby Digital 2 CH Encoding/Decoding key?  The standard premium content site does not appear to have this codec on it.

    MAYBE you have to wait for an answer by Tuesday, since it is a weekend and on Monday it's a Holiday.

    Avid Support responded to me with the code to unlock and that worked. No information on why that happens but I printed all my activation keys so I'll be ready if that happens again.

    Hi ReadVid,

    I'm glad that things are now working for you.

    Can you check the list of activated keys in your Studio, Click on Help > View activated keys.

    See if all of your codecs are listed there. And IF the listed activated keys prompt again for an activation, I think there is a corrupted file in your installation. I will recommend you to advance uninstall your Studio.

     Start with Section 2: Advanced Uninstall and Reinstall Steps

    Thanks for the tip, tozilog. So far I haven't had any issues but I will do the re-install if there are additional problems. Below are the codecs listed. Please advise if there are others I should have. Thanks again.

    Dolby 5.1 Consumer Encoding

    MPEG-4 Encoding/Decoding

    I'm having the same problem as this entire thread. I keep getting the error message and it's already let me edit/import some videos, but now it won't let me. I purchased the Studio HD upgrade and it worked, now it wont work again! Please send me whatever fix I need so I can get the program to work. I just bought it two days ago.

    Update: Access code was sent by Raff_Uy and Dolby 2 CH Encoding/Decoding has been turned on.

    But I still do not have MP3 Encoding/Decoding. Does anyone know how to obtain access codes (free or pay) for Studio 15 other than by PM on this forum? I've searched all of Avid's sites and I can't find anything.

    I am having same issue.  Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 15.0.0.7593  using Windows 7 Home Premium  AMD Athlon III x4 640Processor 3GHz 4GB ram  I regenerated the activation keys, but no success.
