I am currently using Studio 12 Ultimate with Studio 10 and 11 still installed on the same PC.  Is it possible to develop a program that will safely remove old versions of Studio programs or files.  It would be great if this could be done automatically by the new version of Studio during installation.  I have read and heard so many different opinions referring to keeping or removing the previous versions of Studio programs.  The question "Do you want to remove the previous version(s) of Studio?" during installation of a new version would be GREAT!!!

Leave the programs alone. If you remove one or both of them, your studio 12 will be messed up. You will have to repair studio 12 to have it running again normally.

I second this request. On the removal screen they could ask to leave shared content or remove it, for people that have other versions. I like to keep my disk cleaned up, and keeping every version of studio I have ever purchases is not that great.

I have used 10 or 12 versions of Studio by now - starting in 2000.  I don't recall ever keeping the earlier version installed except once for a short time to bring forward a feature which the new version did not include.

I use my newest and fastest computer for video editing, music, and related tasks only.  I keep it lean and fast.  I usually reformat the C drive when I upgrade. 
I use my older slower computers for other applications including the Internet.
