    Have a look at THIS.

But, it's not available, or at least I couldn't find a current link for purchase it. Big Smile

    Re: Pinnacle Studio 15

The announcement may be premature because if you go to either Specifications or Upgrade, under the Studio 15 web page, both are empty.  Let's see what happens in the next day or two.

Unless that "Studio 15" header is a teaser (or misprint?) Wink

If you poke around a bit you can also see THIS and THIS

Seems that Pinnacle are the first to break their own embargo Smile

Wonder how long your thread will last Mike?

Edit HD video on your computer-with ultra-fast performance when using AVCHD and H.264-based formats*

Back up your work with the new Archive/Restore tool*

    Look like the new features.

Easy one-click uploading to YouTube-including high-quality widescreen and HD* formats

Missed that - added HD to the YouTube uploader....

I clicked through to "reasons to upgrade" -- and it refers to Studio 14 on that page

but this might be a preliminary sign that something could be about to happen ...

editing H.264-based formats and exporting  QT HD, looks like the biggest added features  --- not much if true -- I hope there's more ...

All the available links are still to Studio 14 pages and that's why I said that it appears to be a premature announcement.  If the listed Features are correct (and actually work this time), then S15 will be a very welcome piece of editing software.

Is "NexGen" finally here? Big Smile

There is a web programmer somewhere who is going to be embarresd. I didn't think any web software nowadays didn't have an offline development and testing mode.

I hope you're right -- but which features have you seen that make you so excited ??

(theres no mention of 64bit capable; I would  never for example do a youTube upload from Studio...)

maybe its too early -- but I'm underwhelmed so far -- why no 64 ??

I can see DivX Plus MKV export. I would be surprised that Pinnacle uses this opensource container.

And add this following post (today) to the latest:

@UPfizenmaier - Are you still here??  No posts from PCLE since this tread was started about 6 months ago.  Are we talking to ourselves.

We are all busily working on new things here at Pinnacle but we are listening just to reassure you, if anyone else has any feedback we would still love to hear it!

    Regards

Why the sudden expression of "reassurance" after a delay of 8 months since Ibeck's question?

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.  I hope Pinnacle / Avid are serious about "listening" to us and will respond to our questions about patches etc in future.

    Re: Pinnacle Studio 15

This IS a sign of things to come... FINALLY a patch to Studio 14 Ultimate!!!!!    They've listened and have heard our requests to fix issues that seem to plague a good number of users.  The fix is called...   Studio 15 Ultimate

imho patches are a thing of the past with Avid, just release a new version... people'll buy it (me included - I've owned every version since 8.12) - most of us always do and they know it.  I guess they figure they COULD issue a new patch but then people might decide they LIKE the fixed version and might not buy the upgrade!    my 2 cents worth...

btw - any mention of being able to use Smartsounds with 15?

Who's to say they have fixed any bugs? They don't acknowledge the DVD compatibility issue....

IMHO, if a purchased product is faulty, usually one of three things will happen - 1:  It will be fixed (at no cost - warranty), 2: It will be replaced (at no cost) with one that does work, or 3: The faulty product will be returned for a full refund.

I have never had to purchase "the next model up" on top of the one I just bought in order to get it working properly.

Usually the reason I go for "upgrades" is because of new and improved features.  And that's fair enough.

And FWIW, I wont "upgrade" my S12 and buy S14 because I know there is no patch for the S14 bugs and of course it will be too early to know if S15 is any better.  Avid miss out on my $$$ in the meantime.

So will existing S14 users have to shell out for S15 in the hope of fixing the bugs in S14, or will Pinnacle / Avid do the right thing and provide the long awaited patch?

Pinnicle / Avid, you have assured us that you are listening, so what do you say???

Although a 64-bit NLE should have an advantage, at least theoretically, I have reached the point of thinking that needs to be demonstrated. I just downshifted from 64-bit Win 7 with 6 GB RAM to 32-bit Win 7 with 3 GB RAM, and so far I'm liking it better (though I haven't done any video editing yet).

I was thinking the same thing.

I don't think this was really intended to be released just yet. We haven't gotten the "early adopters" special yet.

When S15 does roll out, it will be the first version that I will have to "try before you buy". I'm simply waiting for the "timed capture duration" feature. If this feature shows up, you can count me in. Wink

    I notice:
" There is a trial of the Studio 15 software.

To view  an FAQ on how download and install it click here. "

The link is not there.  I wonder why not?  Are they gearing up for the release before activating the links?
